Travelling to Competa by Air
The nearest airport is Málaga airport, one hour drive from Competa. From Great Britain and Ireland there are numerous budget flights to Málaga. Almost all travel agencies in the United Kingdom have budget flights to Málaga on offer, so we don’t involve ourselves with the booking of flights to Málaga.

Travelling to Competa from Malaga Airport
From Málaga airport a regular bus service runs to the Central Bus station in Málaga. From here a bus service runs to Cómpeta with the following departure times:
On weekdays at 11.30 AM, 13.15 PM and 18.30 PM.
On Saturdays and public holidays at 13.15 PM and 18.30 PM.
On Sundays at 10.30 AM and 21.00 PM.

A one way bus ticket Málaga-Cómpeta costs around € 7 per person. The one way fare by taxi from Málaga airport to Cómpeta costs around € 60.

If you prefer to be independent you might consider renting a car. Let us know what kind of car you would like (3-doors, 4-5 doors, with or without air conditioning, etc, and we can take care that this car will be waiting for you at the airport, on average 15% cheaper than you would normally pay at the airport.

Travelling to Competa from the United Kingdom by Car
You could take a ferry to one of the French ports for instance Calais. Ferries sail also between Plymouth and Santander in northern Spain, and between Portsmouth and Bilbao in northern Spain.

The distance from Calais to Cómpeta is around 2000 km, 1250 miles, the distance from Santander and Bilbao to Cómpeta is around 1000 km,625 miles. The latter distance could be done in one day. The roads are excellent, in France the autoroute, in Spain the autopista, almost the whole route is four lanes. After Burgos the roads are toll free.

From Calais follow the signs Paris, Orléans, Tours, Poitiers, Bordeaux, Bayonne, San Sebastian, Burgos, Madrid, Ocana (direction Cordoba), Valdepenas, Jaen, Granada, Motril, Almunecar (direction Málaga), Nerja, Torrox, Cómpeta. From Santander and Bilbao follow the signs to Burgos and then the same route as above.
